Warrnambool Hillside Summer Night Markets
24 November & 8 December
Pre-Christmas markets on the Civic Green. Browse the products of fabulous designers, makers, collectors, taste delish foods and enjoy locally produced beverage.


A Very Liebig Christmas
29 November
Celebrate the start of summer in Warrnambool with a street party featuring live music, kids’ activities and a visit from Santa!

A live art event where artists create their artwork while you browse around.

Victorian Athletic League (handicap running racing) races range from 70 – 1000 metres with $10,000 prize money up for grabs.

Jericho Cup
1 December
Honouring the heroic servicemen and their magnificent mounts. This special race day commemorates the 101 year anniversary of the Jericho Cup, featuring historic displays, free children’s activities and variety of race day hospitality.


Carols by the Merri
6 December
A community celebration where local schools, musicians and groups come together with the wider community to celebrate Christmas.


Max's Race
14 December 
The Premier Speedway Club, in honour of local Speedway Legend and fan favourite Max Dumesny, will hold Max's Race. 


Taste of the Coast – Ross Wilson
15 December
Experience the taste and flavours of the Great Ocean Road with local food and wine stalls plus live entertainment from Ross Wilson, better known as the lead singer of Daddy Cool, and a number local support acts at Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village!


Port Fairy IGA Community Christmas Race Day
19 December
Celebrate the silly season with Port Fairy IGA Community Christmas Race Day at the Warrnambool Racecourse. 


Carols on the Green
20 December
Community Carols by Candlelight will be held on the Civic Green, there will be a live band and community group choirs. 


Warrnambool Family Carnival
26 December – 26 January
All the fun of the fair on the Warrnambool Foreshore, thrill rides, family rides, sideshows and iconic carnival food.


27 December – 26 January

BeachFest on the Warrnambool foreshore is a fantastic family event where visitors and locals will be enthralled by a range of free summer activities. From creative workshops to water sports - there is something for everyone!


Summer Night Markets
27 December, 3, 10, 17, 24 January
A series of wonderful markets held on Friday nights in Lake Pertobe over summer. Fabulous and unique stalls, foods, wine, live music and outdoor cinema!


Worm Bay Aquathon
27 December
Great summer fun for a team or a solo challenge. 1km run followed by 150 swim – do as many laps as you can in 1 hour.


NYE Fireworks
31 December
A spectacular display of fireworks to bring in the New Year. Fired from the Warrnambool Foreshore at 9.30pm and midnight.


New Year’s Eve on the Hill
31 December
Flagstaff Hill will be the best place in Warrnambool for families to spend New Years Eve. With live music, food stalls, kids’ activities, great vantage point for the 9.30pm fireworks and much more!


Woodford Cup
31 December
One of the south west regions leading race days. Great entertainment as well as excellent racing, fashions on the field, free kids’ activities and live music. Fun for the whole family!


Move to the Groove
31 December
A fun event brought to you by the Kiwanis Club of Warrnambool, raising money for the Special Development School. Live music from local band The Loose Cannons. BYO nibbles and drink.


Shipwreck Coast Fishing Classic
3-12 January
Warrnambool Offshore and light game fishing host this annual fishing competition with the major prize being a boat package at the Warrnambool Breakwater.


Coastal Jam
5 January 
Costal Jam has moved to the Pavilion Café & Bar for its second year. DJs, food and beverage and festival-level production – right next to one of the most picturesque locations Warrnambool has to offer.


Chill on the Hill
8, 15, 22nd January
Savour the summer evenings at Chill on the Hill 2020 with 5km fun runs, live music and food stalls in Warrnambool most picturesque waterfront beer garden, aka Flagstaff Hill.


Hopkins Mini Tri Series
9, 16 & 23 January
The Blue Hole Triathlon is a short style of triathlon involving a 200m swim in the Hopkins River, a ride to Logans Beach lookout and a 1km run to Point Ritchie and back to the Blue Hole carpark.


11-12 January
Obstacool is an exciting program that travel the country sharing the fun and getting Aussie kids active.


Warrnambool Gem Show
11-12 January 
Gems, fossils and minerals on display and gem cutting demonstrations at the biennial Warrnambool Gem Show. Traders and collectors will be selling a wide range of beautiful stones, jewellery and more.


Surf ‘T’ Surf
12 January
The Surf ‘T’ Surf Fun Run/Walk is one of the largest participation sporting events in South West Victoria.


2020 Victorian Country Swimming Championships
24-26 January
Warrnambool is set to host close to 700 swimmers at the Victorian long course country championships.


Speedway Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic
24-26 January
The Grand Annual is an Australian dirt sprint car racing meet that takes place at the Premier Speedway.  The largest car count in sprint car racing, the meet attracts the best drivers from across the globe. 


Australia Day in the Gardens
26 January
Come and celebrate what’s great about Australia and the region at Warrnambool’s Australia Day celebrations in the Botanic Gardens.

Wunta Fiesta

31 January – 2 February
A celebration of music, food and fun for people of all ages. This community event is held over three days and incorporates a range of activities suitable for the whole family.

Melbourne to Warrnambool Cycling Classic
15 February
An iconic Victorian sporting event which is the second oldest one day cycling even in the world and the longest in the southern hemisphere.


Warrnambool Weekend of Dance
21-23 February
Old time nu vogue dancing, live music and fully catered on Friday and Saturday. BYO Picnic lunch on Sunday.


South West Regatta
22-23 February
Organise your sporting mates, work colleagues and friend for a fun, challenging. Day on the beautiful Hopkins River in Warrnambool.
