About

Strong Spirit is an exhibition by Merindah-Gunya, a Peek Whurrung, Kirrae Whurrung, and Djab Whurrung woman, celebrating the resilience and vitality of Aboriginal culture. Through a diverse range of colours, Merindah-Gunya explores the deep connections between land, identity, and spirituality central to being an Aboriginal woman.

Each piece reflects her profound respect for tradition while addressing contemporary themes of identity and belonging. Strong Spirit invites visitors to connect with the enduring strength of Aboriginal culture and the powerful narratives that continue to shape its future.
This exhibition is proudly supported by the Australian Government Regional Arts Fund and the State Government through Regional Arts Victoria.
