About

TextaQueen’s exhibition the unseed presents a new suite of felt-tip drawings, in collaboration with writer G.B. Krishnan, for their forthcoming children’s book.

Pictured here at Warrnambool Gallery for the first time, the unseed is a queer botanical odyssey through both the wild and suburban landscapes of our inner and outer worlds. TextaQueen’s drawings track the journey of a humble seed blown over a backyard fence somewhere in so-called Australia. From the initial shock of its hostile surroundings to its interactions with like-minded creatures, this is a tender exploration of otherness and the value of true connection.

With these gentle felt-tip strokes, TextaQueen’s the unseed maps the way back to our lost and buried inner children, guiding them back to our true selves.
