Beachfest is Back!by I AM WARRNAMBOOL
Warrnambool Beachfest returns with a huge line-up of fun family activities. From Friday 28th December through to Saturday 26th January, Beachfest will take over the city for serious summer fun for the whole family.
BeachFest on the Warrnambool Foreshore is a fantastic family event where visitors and locals will be enthralled by a range of free and low cost beach activities.
Now in its third year, BeachFest favourites like sand sculpting workshops, The Big Beach Bash (Beach Cricket), Tunes in the Dunes, Twilight Movies in the park, Summer Night Markets and the much loved Rockpool Rambles will be back this Summer.
New on the BeachFest lineup include: Beats in the Heat, SingStar Karaoke, Walking Tours: Street Art Walking Tours and Guided tours of Lake Pertobe and Pop Up Promenade Art @ the Pavilion Artist in Residence Programs. Come along and meet some of Warrnambool’s most talented artists, watch them work and have a go yourself! There’s also a Sewing Station. Jump on a sewing machine and repurpose old material and chicken feed bags into beach and swim bags.
Warrnambool City Council Events and Promotion Coordinator Rebecca Elmes said that BeachFest is a series of events held at the main beach that is easy to get involved in while being lots of fun.
“We are making the most of one of Warrnambool’s most iconic locations with beach-themed activities that will both improve the experience for visitors while enhancing liveability for locals. Most of the activities are free or low cost, so we encourage everyone to come down and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.”
