The Biggest Easter Egg Huntby BETHANY LEWIS
The popular Easter celebration ‘Day on the Hill’ is back again! To be held on the 21st April from 10.30am-3pm, Day on the Hill will see tested favourites included local live music, onsite pub and food stalls, farm animals, face painting, kids craft activities, cannon firing and the return of the popular chocolate egg hunt that debuted in 2018.
New in 2019 is Mrs Kucks Confectionary, the boutique village lolly shop full of sweet treats and named after a local confectionary maker from the 1870’s.
Flagstaff Hill was blown away by the support from locals and visitors who attended last year’s Day on the Hill Easter festivities, with over 1,000 people attending the event on Easter Sunday.
Nicky Suter, Flagstaff Hill Village Activation Co-ordinator said that
‘Last year 800 people queued to buy tickets on the day, so to avoid long waiting times, we urge people to book and collect their tickets in advance.’
Flagstaff Hill will be working with local group Coastcare, who will be running the Penguin Egg hunt. A $2 donation is required to enjoy the egg hunt with all proceeds going back to the local conservation group.
Last year’s eggs hunt with 4,000 chocolate Cadbury eggs was extremely popular. Mrs Suter said that
‘We’ve listened to customer feedback and this year made the hunt bigger and better, now with 10,000 eggs and a new format.’
Remember to bring a picnic rug to settled down on the village green and make the most of the live music and onsite refreshments
