Summer at Flagstaff Hill

This Summer Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village is thrilled to introduce several new and exciting activities to safely engage and entertain the whole family.

The ever popular school holiday program featuring fun craft activities and games will return featuring a brand new Garrison drill re-enactment activity.

Our new self-guided Code Breaker Challenge will test your decoding skills as you make your way to various locations around the village finding the maritime signal flags and Morse code clues throughout. Come and see if you can break the code!

This summer we will also introduce a program of captivating activations which celebrate our extensive heritage collection and the traditional 1800’s trades of the village.

Satisfy your curiosities and discover the origins of things, their previous purpose, where they were discovered and how they came to be at Flagstaff Hill as we expose the stories around some of the more obscure items in our collection that you don’t normally get to see.

Take a village tour like no other where you will learn about commonly unnoticed oddities and how and why they came to be where they are. Not every village has a mortuary slab just sitting beside the main street after all.

Witness demonstrations of traditional boat building, blacksmithing, printmaking and dressmaking throughout the village and learn about the significant past of the heritage precinct where you can climb the 150 year old lighthouse for the best view in town.

While you are here, indulge in a delicious Devonshire tea or a light lunch in the Stella Maris Tea Rooms and take home a sweet memento of your visit from Mrs Kuck’s Confectionery Shop.

Our gift shop also boasts a beautiful range of gifts and souvenirs to help you remember your holiday or present to friends and loved ones.

With 4 hectares of scenic open space to enjoy, there’s something for everyone at Flagstaff Hill.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.
